Our Master Classes are part of our Acting Intensives but can be taken on an individual basis without being part of the actual Intensive. Master Classes span between 2 - 4 nights and total 6 hours. This is a great way to be part of the Intensive without a lengthy time commitment.

Director's Panel
Thursday, June 15th

Panelists: Carnessa Ottelin

In this panel, students will get the chance to dig into the mind of director and learn about what they look for in actors, the best way to make an impression, the importance of networking, and gain insight into the business of acting. Participants will get a chance to perform a prepared monologue in front of the panel for a mock general audition and get instant feedback on what did and did not work and if they would have been called back. Unique oppurtunity.

Character Development

Using techniques such as animal work, observation, movement and voice, students will explore the world of creating a character from the ground up.

Improv

Every actor should know how to improv and this is the perfect master class for that. Learn how to say "Yes" and work with free-form acting. Games and exercises will help strengthen your skills and spur of the moment dialogue and make you a better performer especially if something should ever go wrong on stage or when giving a speech. Fun class for everyone.

Acting for the Camera - Commercials

Dive into the ins and outs of commercial work. Learn the terminology used on set and get in-front of camera training using real commercial sides. Learn how to sell a product and connect with the camera. Wonderful opportunity to get in-front of camera experience with commercials.

Using the foundation of the International Phonetic Alphabet (I.P.A.) students will learn the basics of producing the sounds needed for the British and Irish dialect.

Stage Combat
Thursdays, July 27th and August 3rd

Hair pulling, pushing, falling, kicking and punching are some of the elements you will learn in this 2-night Master Class. Other elements will include safety, the do's and don'ts of stage combat, and how to sell a fight. Safety will always come first in this class. Great way to be introduced to the basics of stage combat in a safe enviornment.
